“I give a lot of credit to them. We had already announced our Opening Day date and couldn’t really change it. They really worked hard and overcame some major obstacles to get the project completed early. They found a way to get it done.”

While building the baseball stadium, workers discovered a phone duct bank running through the site. The bank contained over 14,000 pairs of phone wires, and phone crews were not immediately able to remove the obstruction. In order to continue crucial concrete work, crews dug underneath and built a support structure for the bank. As a result, the bank is completely encased within the stadium walls. The project progressed according to schedule and the Peoria Chiefs were able to play their Opening Day game as planned.
